Memory corruption via freed modem object reuse
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Use-after-free in Qualcomm Snapdragon modem firmware allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory during modem initialization. The initialization path accesses a modem object after its storage has been freed; Qualcomm has not published the affected function or triggering input. Exploitation requires local high-privileged access and can compromise confidentiality, integrity, and availability within the modem.
