Device compromise via unchecked card APDU index
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon modem firmware allows physically proximate attackers to compromise devices via a malformed card APDU. Modem code uses an APDU-derived array index without properly validating its range, allowing out-of-bounds memory access. Exploitation requires access to the device's card interface and can expose or alter modem data or interrupt modem operation.
