Authenticated backup access via non-expiring sessions
Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 9, 2025
Session expiration failure in IKUS Software Rdiffweb before 2.5.0a6 allows physically proximate attackers to reuse authenticated sessions. The authentication tool treats a session as logged in while its user and login-time keys remain present, without enforcing an absolute lifetime. Exploitation requires access to an authenticated user's browser or session material and permits that user's backup-data access and actions.
