Administrator password disclosure via filter-bypassing SQL injection
Published Sep 27, 2022 · Updated May 21, 2025
SQL injection in Advantech iView 5.7.04.6469 allows remote attackers to read the administrator password through ConfigurationServlet. Its setConfiguration action passes a crafted column_value through CUtils.checkSQLInjection and uses it in SQL, creating a response oracle. The endpoint listens on TCP port 8080 by default and requires no authentication, exposing stored application credentials to network-reachable attackers.
