Memory disclosure via IPv6 option buffer over-read
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Buffer over-read in the Snapdragon modem allows remote attackers to disclose memory by sending a crafted IPv6 packet. The modem's IPv6 header processing reads beyond the available buffer when handling hop-by-hop or destination options. No authentication or user interaction is required; exposed packet processing can reveal adjacent memory and can also interrupt service.
