CVE-2022-33226

Memory corruption via unchecked Core ioctl buffer copy

Published Jun 6, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon Core firmware allows local users to corrupt memory through crafted diag client ioctl input. Core copies attacker-controlled ioctl input into a destination buffer without checking whether the supplied size fits that buffer. Exploitation requires high-privilege local access to a diag client application; Qualcomm has not published a more specific consequence than memory corruption.
