CVE-2022-33224

Memory corruption via unchecked ioctl buffer copy

Published Jun 6, 2023 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Buffer overflow in Qualcomm Snapdragon Core allows local users with high privileges to corrupt memory through crafted ioctl queries. The Core ioctl-query handler copies attacker-controlled input into a buffer without checking that the input fits the destination. Access requires local high privileges, and the published record limits the demonstrated consequence to memory corruption.
