CVE-2022-33217

Memory corruption via unchecked IPC buffer copy

Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025

Memory corruption in Qualcomm Snapdragon Mobile IPC allows local users to corrupt memory while initiating communication with a compromised kernel. The IPC startup path copies attacker-controlled input into a destination buffer without first validating that the input fits. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and a compromised kernel; successful abuse compromises confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
