Authenticated root command execution via default_key_id injection
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
OS command injection in Abode iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9X and 6.9Z allows remote authenticated users to execute root commands. In /root/hpgw, the /action/wirelessConnect handler passes a second unsanitized default_key_id value into an OS command and executes it through popen as root. An authenticated POST with auth_mode set to SHARED or WEP reaches the flaw, giving the requester arbitrary command execution on the security hub.
