Stack buffer overflows in Brocade Fabric OS before 9.0.1e and 9.1.0 allow local users to execute arbitrary code as root. Several commands pass user input to unsafe string functions that write beyond stack buffers; Broadcom has not identified the commands or functions. An authenticated local account is required, and successful exploitation grants root control of the switch operating system.
