CVE-2022-33160Network attack vector

Unauthenticated information disclosure via algorithm downgrade

Published Oct 6, 2023 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

Algorithm downgrade in IBM Security Directory Suite 8.0.1 allows remote attackers to decrypt highly sensitive information. IBM has not disclosed the affected cryptographic component, the weaker algorithm selected during negotiation, or how untrusted input triggers that selection. The attack needs no account or user interaction but has high-complexity conditions; the documented consequence is confidentiality loss without data alteration or service interruption.
