Same-origin policy bypass in Custom Tabs
Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025
Insufficient policy enforcement in Google Chrome for Android before 106.0.5249.62 allows attackers to bypass the same-origin policy. Google identified Custom Tabs as the affected component but has not published the exact policy check or code operation that mishandles the crafted application's requests. Exploitation requires a user to install an attacker-supplied Android application, which can then cross origin boundaries and modify data in another web origin.
