Stored script execution via SVG profile upload
Published Jul 7, 2022 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Stored XSS in Magnolia CMS 6.2.19 allows remote attackers to execute script in a victim's browser through a crafted SVG profile picture. The Edit Contact upload flow accepts an SVG profile image containing JavaScript, stores it, and later renders it without neutralizing the active content. An attacker must upload the profile picture and a user must view the affected contact or asset; script execution is confined to that user's browser context.
