Code execution via malicious request dependency
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Malicious dependency inclusion in ML-Scanner 0.1.0 through 0.1.5 allows attackers to execute code via the malicious request package. Affected releases install the separate request package without establishing its trustworthiness, thereby introducing the reported backdoor. Installation requires a package index or mirror that still serves request; execution exposes sensitive data and digital-currency keys and enables privilege escalation.
