CVE-2022-32962

Code execution via PKCS#11 double free

Published Jul 20, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Double free in the HiCOS Natural Person Credential Component Client allows physically proximate attackers to execute arbitrary code. TWCERT/CC identifies the affected PKCS#11 libraries but does not disclose which routine releases the same allocation twice or what attacker-controlled input reaches that path. Physical access without authentication is required; successful exploitation can also corrupt memory, manipulate system data, or terminate the service.
