CVE-2022-32934Network attack vector

Kernel code execution via SMB memory mishandling

Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025

Memory-safety flaw in SMB in Apple macOS allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code in the kernel. The SMB component mishandles memory while processing remote input; Apple has not disclosed the faulty operation or input structure. Exposure requires network access and low privileges on Big Sur before 11.7, Monterey before 12.6, or Ventura before 13; successful exploitation gains kernel execution.
