CVE-2022-32916

Kernel-memory disclosure via out-of-bounds read

Published Dec 15, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in the Apple iOS Kernel before 16 allows local users to disclose kernel memory through an app. The Kernel insufficiently validates app-supplied input before reading beyond an intended buffer, returning adjacent kernel-memory contents. Execution of an attacker-controlled app on an iPhone 8 or later is required, and the reported impact is limited to kernel-memory disclosure.
