Sandboxed camera-use disclosure via observable app state
Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025
Information disclosure in Image Processing in Apple macOS and watchOS allows local users to identify the app currently using the camera. Apple identifies the locus as Image Processing but has not published the interface or operation that exposed cross-app camera-use state. Execution of a sandboxed app is required, and the reported consequence is limited to learning which app is using the camera.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
