CVE-2022-32910Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Gatekeeper bypass via missing quarantine propagation

Published Nov 1, 2022 · Updated May 6, 2025

Protection-mechanism failure in Apple macOS allows attackers to bypass Gatekeeper and run unsigned code through a crafted archive. ArchiveService applies quarantine only to extracted contents, then renames the unquarantined temporary root into an application bundle. A user must download, extract, and launch the crafted archive; the resulting app runs without the normal Gatekeeper security prompt.
