CVE-2022-32851

Process crash or memory disclosure via AppleScript binary

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025

An out-of-bounds read in AppleScript on affected Apple macOS releases allows attackers to crash a process or disclose process memory. The AppleScript binary processor reads beyond an input boundary while validating a maliciously crafted binary; Apple has not disclosed the affected function or field. Exploitation requires a user or application to process the crafted local file, and the bounded effects are process termination or disclosure of that process's memory.
