CVE-2022-32839Network attack vector

Remote code execution via CoreText bounds failure

Published Aug 24, 2022 · Updated May 29, 2025

A CoreText memory-safety flaw in Apple macOS, tvOS, and watchOS allows remote attackers to crash an app or execute arbitrary code. The defective CoreText parser accepts data outside a memory buffer's intended bounds; Apple has not disclosed the responsible routine or exact buffer operation. No authentication is required, and successful exploitation causes application termination or code execution in the affected process.
