CVE-2022-32814

Kernel code execution via Multi-Touch type confusion

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2025

Type confusion in Multi-Touch in Apple macOS before 12.5, tvOS before 15.6, and watchOS before 8.7 allows local users to execute kernel code. Multi-Touch mishandles object state and uses a resource as an incompatible type; Apple has not disclosed the affected function or input structure. Execution begins from an app already running on an affected device and reaches kernel privileges, compromising the platform security boundary.
