Phishing via trusted CI artifact redirects
Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Open redirect in GitLab CE/EE allows remote authenticated users to redirect visitors from trusted artifact links to arbitrary content. The CI/CD artifact file route returns a 303 redirect to attacker-controlled HTML on the Pages domain, where script can redirect again. An attacker needs project access to create a pipeline artifact, and a visitor must follow the official-looking link; the bounded consequence is phishing exposure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
