Memory corruption in SMB in Apple macOS Monterey before 12.5 allows local users to execute arbitrary code with kernel privileges. Faulty SMB state management corrupts memory, but Apple has not disclosed the affected function, object lifetime, or triggering input. Execution requires a user to run an app locally, and successful exploitation crosses the user-to-kernel boundary with full kernel-code execution.
