JavaScript execution via unsanitized success parameter
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Reflected XSS in WWBN AVideo 11.6 and dev master commit 3f7c0364 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through a crafted URL. The showAlertMessage function in objects/functions.php inserts the success query parameter into an avideoAlertSuccess JavaScript call after replacing only double quotes, so a closing script tag starts attacker-supplied script. Execution requires an authenticated user to follow the crafted URL, and targeting an administrator can compromise that account.
