Playlist takeover via unchecked object ownership
Published Aug 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
Missing authorization in the PlayLists plugin in WWBN AVideo 11.6 allows remote authenticated users to take over other users' playlists. The playlistAddNew.json.php handler loads a caller-supplied playlist ID and saves the object without verifying that the logged-in user owns it. The plugin is disabled by default, and exploitation requires a logged-in account plus a known or guessed sequential ID; success permits reading and changing the victim playlist.
