Authenticated command execution via unfiltered firmware metadata
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
OS command injection in Robustel R1510 3.1.16 and 3.3.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The sysupgrade binary copies upgrade_obj.file_desc from an uploaded firmware file into an rpkg command and passes the resulting string to system() without filtering shell metacharacters. Administrator access and a precisely crafted firmware upload are required, after which injected commands run on the router.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
