Server crash via unhandled AuthProxy write-ready event
Published Dec 19, 2022 · Updated Apr 17, 2025
Improper exceptional-condition handling in Apache Traffic Server 8.0.0 through 9.1.3 allows remote attackers to crash the server via requests. The AuthProxy request-write state table omits the WRITE_READY event, so an expected nonblocking socket state reaches the plugin without a handler instead of resuming buffered output. The AuthProxy plugin must be configured; crafted traffic can interrupt proxy service without authentication or user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
