CVE-2022-3269Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Account access via unreplaced session identifier

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025

Session fixation in IKUS Software Rdiffweb before 2.4.7 allows remote authenticated users to access another user's account via a retained cookie. The login controller stores the authenticated username in the existing CherryPy session, while logout only clears that username, so the same identifier survives authentication boundaries. Exploitation requires a session cookie obtained through another attack and a later login in the same browser, after which the cookie grants access to that user's account.
