CVE-2022-3265Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Stored XSS via unsanitized scoped label colors

Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025

Stored XSS in GitLab CE/EE before 15.3.5, 15.4.0 through 15.4.3, and 15.5.0 through 15.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to act as victims. GitHub project import accepts an arbitrary scoped-label color, and the EE labels helper inserts it into HTML attributes without neutralizing markup, bypassing CSP. A Premium namespace, API token, malicious import source, and victim visit to a label-bearing issue or merge request are required; injected script can access private data and issue API actions in the victim's session.
