Local privilege escalation via isp bounds write
Published Nov 8, 2022 · Updated May 1, 2025
Improper input validation in MediaTek isp on Android 11.0 and 12.0 allows local users to gain system privileges via crafted input. The isp component writes beyond a buffer because a bounds check is missing when processing input. Exploitation requires existing high privileges on the device but no user interaction, and can compromise system confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
