Authenticated command execution via unescaped snapshot filename
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025
OS command injection in Abode Systems iota All-In-One Security Kit 6.9X and 6.9Z allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The /action/ipcamRecordPost handler URL-decodes each submitted snapshot filename, inserts it unescaped into an rm -rf command, and passes the string to popen as root. The local web interface must be enabled and authenticated; it is disabled by default, but successful exploitation grants root command execution.
