Cluster Manager cookie exposure
Published Jun 13, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Information disclosure in Couchbase Server before 7.0.4 allows remote attackers who can read couchbase-cli process arguments to obtain the Cluster Manager cookie. The server-eshell command passes the Erlang cookie as a command-line argument to erl, exposing it through process-argument listings. Access to the cookie enables administrative tasks in the cluster; exploitation requires the ability to inspect the couchbase-cli process arguments.
