CVE-2022-32547Public exploit

Application interruption via misaligned EXIF value reads

Published Jun 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Undefined behavior in ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.12-45 and ImageMagick 7 before 7.1.0-30 allows local users to interrupt image processing. GetEXIFProperty casts potentially unaligned EXIF value bytes directly to float and double pointers and dereferences them instead of using an alignment-safe reader. Processing a crafted image triggers undefined behavior that interrupts the calling application; no more specific consequence is established.
