Processing crash via PSD pixel conversion
Published Jun 16, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Integer conversion error in ImageMagick before 6.9.12-43 and 7.1.0 through 7.1.0-27 allows local users to crash PSD processing via a crafted PSD. ReadPSDChannelPixels casts an out-of-range pixel value directly to unsigned char while decoding one-bit PSD channel data, triggering undefined behavior. Processing attacker-supplied PSD content is required; the published reproducer triggers UndefinedBehaviorSanitizer during conversion, and broader consequences remain unspecified.
