CVE-2022-32543

Arbitrary code execution via truncated OLE allocation

Published Aug 5, 2022 · Updated Apr 15, 2025

Integer overflow in ALYac 2.5.8.544 allows context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a crafted OLE file. In sub_18007F9E0, a 32-bit multiplication of the OLE sector count and sector size wraps, allocating too little heap memory before repeated 0x200-byte memcpy operations. A user must open the crafted file so ALYac scans it; successful exploitation executes code in the scanner's security context.
