Remote code execution via unchecked log request copy
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in IGSS Data Server 15.0.0.22170 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted log requests. The IGSSdataServer.exe log-request handler copies attacker-controlled message data into a stack buffer without first verifying that the input fits. The Data Server must be activated and reachable on TCP port 12401; no authentication or user interaction is required.
