Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked setting-value copy
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Schneider Electric IGSS Data Server before 15.0.0.22170 allows remote attackers to execute code. The setting-value message handler copies attacker-controlled data into a fixed-length stack buffer without validating its size. An unauthenticated network client able to reach the server's TCP service can trigger a crash or execute code in the server process.
