Remote code execution via unchecked alarm copy
Published Jan 30, 2023 · Updated Feb 5, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Schneider Electric IGSS Data Server before 15.0.0.22171 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. The opcode 6 alarm-data handler uses an attacker-controlled item count when memcpy places message data without confirming that it fits the destination buffer. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation runs code in the IGSSdataServer.exe process or crashes the service.
