Subscriber-level internal access via unchecked AJAX URL
Published Oct 25, 2022 · Updated May 9, 2025
Server-side request forgery in Adenion Blog2Social before 6.9.10 allows remote authenticated users to access internal URLs via AJAX. The b2s_scrape_url AJAX action passes its url value to b2sFileGetContents without a capability check or validation that the destination is external. Subscriber-level access and a nonce exposed on the Blog2Social dashboard are sufficient to make the WordPress server contact an attacker-chosen internal address.
