Race condition in Insyde InsydeH2O kernels 5.0 through 5.5 allows local users to corrupt SMRAM and escalate privileges via DMA. The PnpSmm command buffer is shared between SMM and non-SMM code, allowing DMA to modify its contents after validation but before firmware uses them. Exploitation requires privileged local DMA access to the ACPI runtime buffer without effective IOMMU protection and can compromise SMM.
