Administrator-level code execution via editable templates
Published Jul 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Remote code execution in HongCMS 3.0 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute server-side code. The /template/edit endpoint accepts web-shell code in a template when the default safe-mode setting is disabled, and the index page executes that template. Exploitation requires administrator access to the management interface and results in arbitrary code execution under the web application's server account.
