Database access via unparameterized inmate ID query
Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Prison Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read or alter database records through the id parameter. The inmate-detail handler at /pms/admin/inmates/view_inmate.php inserts $_GET['id'] directly into a quoted SELECT statement without parameterization or escaping. A valid Administrator or Staff session is required to reach the management-only inmate view, and successful injection exposes the application's MySQL data to reading or modification.
