Authenticated database disclosure via message ID injection
Published Jun 14, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SQL injection in Hospital's Patient Records Management System 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to read database data via a crafted message ID. The delete_message action incorporates the POST id value into an SQL statement without neutralizing SQL syntax, and the demonstrated updatexml payload returns query results in a database error. A valid backend session is required, and the published proof of concept discloses the active database name.
