Unauthorized contact-detail changes via unchecked object reference
Published Sep 6, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
An alleged IDOR in a Squiz Matrix CMS 6.20 site allows remote attackers to change another user's contact details through a crafted request. The site's contact-details update request accepted a user-controlled object reference without verifying authorization for the referenced account. Squiz and the original discoverer dispute product applicability because the behavior arose from that site's implementation rather than Squiz Matrix CMS itself.
