Missing authentication in Splunk Enterprise deployment servers before 9.0 allows remote attackers to download forwarder bundles. The PackageDownloadRestHandler processes bundle-download requests without authenticating the requesting client. Exposure requires Deployment Server functionality, and downloaded bundles can disclose certificates, passwords, configuration, and application code.
