CVE-2022-32138Network attack vector

Memory overwrite or service interruption via sign extension

Published Jun 24, 2022 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Unexpected sign extension in CODESYS Control V2 before 2.4.7.57 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite memory or interrupt service. The CODESYS protocol communication server mishandles a crafted service request by unexpectedly extending a signed value during request processing. Requests require authentication unless no level 1 online password is configured; exploitation can corrupt runtime memory or interrupt controller service.
