Remote database crash via crafted SQL query
Published Jul 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Denial of service in MariaDB Server 10.5 through 10.7 allows remote attackers to crash the database service with a crafted SQL query. The published query reaches st_select_lex_unit::exclude_level during field resolution, where the server raises SIGSEGV instead of rejecting the expression. A database connection able to submit SQL is required; successful exploitation interrupts database availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
