Stored XSS via unescaped settings fields
Published Oct 10, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stored XSS in Simple File List before 4.4.12 allows remote authenticated users to run script in an administrator's browser. The email and list settings handlers store crafted notification addresses and labels, then render them into HTML attributes without sanitization or escaping. Administrator-level access is required to save the payload, and a user must interact with the affected settings view; script execution remains within that user's WordPress origin.
