Unauthenticated service interruption via unchecked description copy
Published Jul 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in TOTOLINK T6 firmware 4.1.9cu.5179_B20201015 allows remote attackers to interrupt service via crafted JSON. The WEB component's FUN_00413be4 function copies the desc value from a cstecgi.cgi request directly into stack-local storage without checking its length. No authentication or user interaction is required; published evidence establishes service interruption but not data access, modification, or code execution.
